‘Glich’ is Not Something We Like to Hear
One word we fear these days is “glich.”
Basically, glich really means something has gone wrong.
The Scope ran into that word on three occassions over the past few days and that should be enough to last for a long time.
The first experience came after being in a long line at the checkout counter at Wal-Mart.
Low and behold after finally getting to the checkout we learned the system wasn’t functioning due to which was termed as a “glich.”
While we managed to make it through this obstacle, later we learned it was human error as someone nipped a phone line.
The second “glich” came with a phone call to the Veteran’s Administration regarding a billing procedure.
After being on hold for more than 15 minutes and being able to talk with a human, it was only then we heard that word again.
A “glich” in the system didn’t allow for proper posting.
The final blow came with a drive through at McDonald’s, only to find out a “glich” shut that system down and required patrons to come inside.
That didn’t happen as Hardees seemed to be up and running.
After three strikes in a very short period of time this only confirms our lifestyle which is centered around electronic machines functioning properly.
At the same time it makes one wonder how we ever survived.
Yes folks, those were the good old days.
