Events include the likes of the Miss North Dakota Pageant, State American Legion Tournament, Fort Union Rendezvous and the Upper Missouri Valley Fair, to name a few.

Memorial Day is Just Around the Corner

Monday, May 18th, 2009

Once again, weather or not, Memorial Day is but a few days away.

Mother Nature is finally getting into the act with some pretty nice weather being dished out.

Hold on!

While it has been nice, that doesn’t mean a change can occur without notice.

One thing for certain, we simply have to make the best of what we have and move forward.

At the same time we remind you to get out and enjoy whatever sunshine breaks through.

On the other hand we encourage you to take time this Memorial Day to pause and give thanks and a salute to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Many look at Memorial Day as simply a time for a Bar-B-Cue or an opportunity to go camping.

If time allows take part in your local ceremony and join hands with others in a community salute.

It’s the right thing to do.

Release of Roxana Saberi is Great News

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

With the recent release of fellow journalist Roxana Saberi there has been an expression of joy and relief across the country.

Roxana spent nearly four months confined in prision in Iran on charges that she was a spy for our country.

Now an appeals court saw the light and did the right thing by letting her free.

Roxana is due to return to her home in Fargo along with her parents.

The entire family has gone through a lot and they will need time to heal.

One can only imagine what Roxana has gone through.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family.
