Five NDSU Football Games On TV, Three Statewide

FARGO, N.D.–North Dakota State University Athletics announced five football television games on Tuesday. The 2009 TV schedule is highlighted by one regional broadcast, three statewide broadcasts, and a pair of road games according to NDSU Director of Athletic Broadcasting Jeremy Jorgenson.

Bison football will be carried on Fox College Sports Central on Saturday, Oct. 10, against Northern Iowa as part of the Missouri Valley Football Conference television package.

KVLY-TV (Channel 11, NBC, Fargo) and the North Dakota NBC Network (KFYR-TV, Channel 5, Bismarck; KQCD-TV, Channel 7, Dickinson; KMOT-TV, Channel 10, Minot; KUMV-TV, Channel 8, Williston) will carry three games live including homecoming against Illinois State on Saturday, Oct. 3, and the annual battle for the Dakota Marker at South Dakota State on Saturday, Oct. 17.

KVLY-TV will also air the road game at Western Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 31, a game that will be produced by Western Illinois University.

“We are excited to bring Bison fans four NDSU football games this year, the third year of our broadcast partnership with Bison Athletics,” said KVLY-TV General Manager Charley Johnson.

The North Dakota NBC Network Production Team has been producing sporting events in the region for the past 22 years.

“We are excited to get so many of our games produced both locally, regionally and statewide. We are looking forward to another exciting year and are happy that our fans and supporters will have a chance to watch the Bison either in person or on television,” said NDSU Director of Athletics Gene Taylor.

In addition, The Craig Bohl Football Show will air statewide live starting at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 6. The first show will air statewide on all NBC affiliates, including KVLY, due to US Open Tennis coverage on KXJB-TV (Channel 4, CBS, Fargo). The remainder of the season the coaches show will air on KXJB Fargo, and the North Dakota NBC Network stations.

The show will also air Sunday nights on KVLY after the late local news. The Craig Bohl Football Show is hosted by former NFL and Bison star Phil Hansen.

The Bison open the season this Thursday night at Iowa State. NDSU completed the 2008 season with a 6-5 record including a 4-4 mark to tie for fourth-place in the Missouri Valley Football Conference.
