Daylight Saving Time Comes to an End Sunday

Friday, October 30th, 2009

With Halloween and the World Series in the air, that my friends sends out a warning that winter is just around the corner.

Some parts of the state are already experiencing the wrath of Mother Nature.

So far, so good here.

Some sunshine sure would be nice since we sure didn’t see any this summer.

One other reminder comes this weekend as Saturday night folks must remember to set clocks back one hour as come Sunday Daylight Saving Time is over.

That means even a further loss of sunshine.

But then again, we never had much to start with.

For now get out and enjoy.

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

As folks prepare for the winter season there are a number of exciting things taking place around town.

With the new hotel rising north of town, this is but one of many construction projects in the area.

Meanwhile, the oil activity continues to flourish and folks remain excited about the possibilities.

On the campus of Williston State College a number of changes are taking place, with the most recent being the groundbreaking for the new tech center.

This $6 million dollar facility will enhance what is already being offered right here at home.

That is only the beginning with lots more to come.

Dr. Ray Nadolny has lit a fire and the flames are spreading at WSC.

Time Marches On as Winter Knocks on Door

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Yes folks, a number of days have passed since the return of the Roughrider Honor Flight.

No doubt this was a trip of a lifetime for everyone involved, including this scribe.

We can tell you it was an experience we will never forget.

The folks heading up the event deserve a standing ovation and a big Thank You.

Since that time the Twins rallied to win the division, only to lose to those Yanks in the first round.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings have had some hair raising wins, including the most recent over Baltimore.

Hang onto your hats folks.

Getting back to the Roughrider Honor Flight we can tell you a reception for the WWII veterans, family and friends is set for 7 p.m. on Nov. 3 at the Teton Grill on the campus of Williston State College.

Plan now to drop by.

An effort is in the works to have a re-dedication of a Veterans plaque on the campus of Williston State College.

Stay tuned.
