Windy and Wet is the way things have been

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

Following 100 inches of snow Mother Nature continues to pile on with the continuous rain and now the wind for good measure.

This has put a damper things for city and farm folks.

Farmers and ranchers have been unable to get seed in the ground, which makes a lot of folks nervous.

One can only wonder what will happen.

The folks in Bismarck are fighting to save homes, while a storm hit Fargo last night, causing a major power outage.

It seems like when it rains, it pours.

There’s no way to put a finger on it and we will just have to ride along.

Harmon Killebrew was a winner

Since our last post a lot of things have happened.

That includes the big May Day storm and the 79th annual Band Day has come and gone.

The storm raised a lot of attention, while Band Day proved to be a huge success.

But today we learned about the death of Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew.

That no doubt has saddened a lot of Twins fans as the “Killer,” as he was affectionately known, was a huge asset for the Minnesota team.

Over the years we had the pleasure of meeting Harmon with him coming to town for a visit and golf tournament.

Harmon was a gentleman and we enjoyed meeting him.

Now he goes to his resting place and we ask that he can rest in peace.
