Mauer power gets fans excited; Vikes to open

Wednesday, July 27th, 2011

With Joe Mauer finally getting his act together the Minnesota Twins fans are becoming excited.

Mauer delivered a win with a double on Tuesday night while carrying that hot bat into play on Wednesday to gain a game in the Central standings.

Now we can only hope this swing is in the right direction and the Twins can keep on the winning track.

Once they get back to .500 they can adjust and make a move to get on top.

For now fans will just have to take it one game at a time.

Meanwhile, with the labor wars settled the National Football League is open for business.

You can listen to the pre-season opener as the Vikes clash with the Titans.

Click on KEYZRADIO.COM throughout the season for the call of the Vikes.

The best thing to do is get ready for baseball and football and cheer on the home teams.

State of North Dakota has been through a lot

With the massive flood in Minot and the other areas of the state battling water, including the good folks in Bismarck, this has put everyone up in arms.

Farmers and ranchers battled a long winter and now with all the rain, a good percent of the farmers north of us were unable to plant their crops.

This in turn will have a carry down for the entire country.

However, things in oil country continue to trump everything.

The latest release of sales tax figures put Williams County No. 1 ahead of Cass County and the folks out east.

Now that is hard to believe.

But no doubt, great for folks around here.
