Rest assured, Virgil Syverson will rest in peace.
After being sent off by the Williston City Band, a group he led for 42 years, the group played inspirational numbers at the funeral of the 94-year-old band master on Monday.
That ceremony proved to be a great ending to a great career that saw him direct the Williston Cowboys Drum & Bugle Corps for 54 years.
He founded that group, while also serving as director of the Williston High School band programs for 39 years.
He lived a good life and his time is now to rest.
May he trumpet in peace!
