Balmy weather hard to believe this time of year

Wednesday, January 4th, 2012

Folks around this part of the country deserve a late Christmas present and Santa has agreed to do just that.

He worked out a deal with Mother Nature and the weather has been held in check.

As a matter of fact no snow is on the ground and the temperature is out of this world.

With the temperature going over 50 degrees, one can only hope this lasts for some time.

Then again, that will never happen.

Get out and enjoy……there’s no time like the present.

For now there’s no need to head off to Arizona or the beaches of Florida.

After all, it’s much warmer here.

New Year brings Rekkenze Brass to Williston

Wednesday, January 4th, 2012

With the turn of the new we first extend a Happy New Year.

On that note we want to tell you about a bonus concert set for 7 p.m. on Jan. 14 at the Williston High School Auditorium.

At that time Williston native Peter Knudsvig brings his Rekkenze Brass Quintet here directory from Germany.

This is a treat for area residents and you don’t want to miss out.

The event is a free-will offering and proceeds will be shared by the VSPC, Williston Concert Association and the Williston High School Band.

This is a perfect way to sit back and enjoy some great sounds as this home town boy shines.

Knudsvig was a student of Virgil Syverson and he has gone on to some great things and today serves as the trumpet professor at Concordia College.
